Not sure about the "starving artist" life?

Are you living from gig to gig? Battling the burnout that comes from taking every little project or student that comes along in order to make ends meet? Worried that you won't make your rent, let alone your retirement? Or constantly worrying about what "selling out" will do you to your career and your creativity?

You're not alone.

Perhaps entrepreneurship and business training weren’t included in your formal studies, or the cost of high-ticket coaching programs just feels so far out of reach on an artist’s income. Maybe life circumstances have made it impossible to gain the skills and knowledge you need to grow your business, or you’re just starting out, pivoting or integrating into a new community. If you’re like others before you, “business” might feel intimidating, and you might feel shy about working one-on-one with a coach or talking about how much you’re struggling.

What if you discovered that you could make your dream of a fulfilling creative life come true in a few hours a week, from the comfort of home, in a warm and encouraging space where the idea of "business" is inviting instead of intimidating, and where there's no judgement for not having it all figured out already?

Welcome to the course that breaks the learning process down into small, proven, manageable steps to help you get one step closer to that dream of a profitable creative life (and does so without any high-ticket coaching pitch or huge investment).

Join us as we learn the step-by-step foundations of entrepreneurship, marketing and financial planning while creating easy-to-keep and efficient habits to give you more time for the creative work you love. Make connections, get personalized feedback on the elements you choose to share, and finish your 8 weeks with a blueprint, action plan and tool box to launch the creative career you desire and deserve.

*This course provides an overview, plans and tools for business planning and basic financial literacy. It does not provide bespoke financial advice, cover debt resolution, credit repair or bankruptcy, nor  guarantee that participants will do the work, follow through, make wise choices or be successful.

Dr. Mary-Elizabeth Brown

Dr. Mary-Elizabeth Brown is an award winning concert violinist, pedagogue, entrepreneur and EdTech pioneer. Hailed as "visionary" and "empowering," she is a career concertmaster, frequent soloist, founder of the AVIVA Virtual Young Artist Program (the first web-based pre-college music program in the world, est. 2012) and the driving force behind the innovative 3D printed violin designs that made international news in early 2023. Mary-Beth, as she's fondly known by her students and mentees, is known for her warm smile and knack for making complex concepts approachable and easy to understand. Her own experience over 2 decades of entrepreneurship combined with her doctorate in music and graduate studies in both managerial finance (London School of Economics) and educational leadership (Harvard) have helped dozens of creative entrepreneurs launch their journeys to careers that are balanced, fulfilling and profitable. Her work has been featured in major news outlets worldwide, from the The Strad and NPR's Science Friday to the Hong Kong Economic Times, BBC and the Correiro Brasiliero. She lives in Montreal where she enjoys balancing her work as a concert violinist and creative entrepreneur with the joys of motherhood.
